How to get out of doing maths homework in Mr Charlton’s class DRAFT

In Mr Charlton’s maths class is quite hard to get out of homework; you have to think of really good reasons to get out of it. Reading this will help you think of better reasons for not doing your homework.

There are a number of ways to get out of homework in Mr Charlton’s class and not get more homework. One is family emergency you could say that you had a family member that is really ill and you had to take them to the hospital and that you would not leave there side.

The first step is to explain that one of your family members is really ill. You have to tell Mr Charlton that one of your family member’s is ill and you had to take them to the hospital and that you stayed there with them.

The second step if he does not believe you you’ll have to get a note in your diary signed by your parents saying that you didn’t do your home work because you were at the hospital waiting to see one of the family member’s.

The third step if he still does not believe you get him to ring up your family and get them to tell him that what you said was true and that you have a reason for not doing your homework.

I think that what I told you should work if you have one of those reasons so just get a note or get your parents to ring up and say why you did not do your homework

  1. Hi Brad

Not a bad effort Brad you have clear steps and they are in order. I like your use of 'first step, 'second step' etc...
Some things for you to consider are:
    - Read and re-read aloud to listen for errors in the way your work sounds. Very important.
    - I think your introduction needs to be modified. Particularly the last sentence. Does your introduction really tell me what I am about to read?
    - In your conclusion you mention "one of those reasons". You only have one reason with 3 steps to make sure that one reason works.

  2. Hi Brad,

When you wrote this, you thought of a back up if the first idea had failed which was good. You wrote each step in a new paragraph, which flowed well.

Some things you need to look for when you edit is fullstops. You missed one at the end of your explanation. You also repeated what you said but wrote it differently in a few of the paragraphs.

Other than that it was really good.
